The association draws its members from a wide range of South Florida corporations, financial institutions, and governmental agencies. SFAFP works closely with the national Association for Financial Professionals (AFP, formerly the Treasury Management Association) on issues relating to regulatory concerns and industry standards.

The AFP was organized as a professional association in 1979 with membership currently exceeding 12,000. National AFP membership dues are billed separately, and provide the following additional benefits:

Most of our meetings receive AFP approval for CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) and CCM (Certified Cash Manager) renewal credits. The CTP/CCM certification class has been designed by the AFP to recognize qualified professional cash management practitioners.
